Wobbly network bridge

Current setup is: (Internet) - Router - Lan - PC - WLan - PDA

PC has Lan + WLan bridged

The PDA gets an IP address from the router which is serving out DHCP, so the
wlan connection would seem to be working, but the PDA can't ping either the
PC or the router and vice-versa.

It sounds like your router may be in "G Only" mode. Make sure the router is
in Mixed Mode, so that your Wireless device can communicate.

You also may want to try changing the wireless configuration, such as the
SSID of the network, and the channel that the signal is on.

What model is your wireless router? I may be able to post some more specific
details of how to accomplish this.

Thanks for the response Scott,

The wlan card is quite old but is already fixed to 11mbps and is talking
direct to the PDA, there's no router involved, just an ad-hoc setup until I
decide if I use wifi enough to justify a wifi router.

Just to test I stripped back the network bridge and fixed the IP's of the
PDA and WLan card and it pinged just fine between them. That's no good for
actual use but it proves the wlan connection to the pda is fine.
