Norton Internet Security keeps notifying me (every couple
of minutes) that c:\windows\system32\wnsintit.exe is
attempting to access the internet. It flags this as a
High Risk. Using Norton Antivirus and Spybot, my machine
should be clean of viruses and spyware, but this notice
concerns me, so I keep blocking it. Is this a legitimate
windows file or soemthing else? If not legitimate, any
ideas on how to get rid of it?

Search for the file on your computer. Right click on it and go to
properties. Look at the information under the various tabs. You may be able
to determine what program installed the file. Then you can make an
intelligent decision as what to do about the situation.

A quick Google shows that this file is associated with the spyware
Purity Scan. Remove spyware with Spybot Search & Destroy from
www.safer-networking.org and Ad-aware from www.lavasoftusa.com. Be sure
to update these programs before running them. These programs are free,
so run them both since they complement each other. It is best to run
antivirus and spyware removal tools in Safe Mode. You may also need to
run CWShredder from http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/index.html .
Please read the instructions carefully. A great resource for dealing
with spyware is http://www.spywareinfo.com.
