WMV-HD online sharing via Neptune.com

is anyone focused on making home movies in the WMV HD format? We are thinking
of a special work around for WMP video albums on our site that have extremely
high bitrate videos like WMV-HD (4-to-9Mbps).

Personally, I think consumer HD camcorders are going to be all the buzz in
the next two years (mostly in 2006) when they reach the $1200 price point. If
you remember DV camcorders had their first big year in 2000, when they
finally went below $1500.

Anyhow, in an effort to help support our early adopter users... I think
online sharing in of that quality level will be amazing. Assuming that your
friends and family are willing to be a little patient for such large videos
to download.

Hi James,

Movie Maker, using custom profiles, can render movies that have the settings
of high definition files.... users with other source files than WMV-HD from
camcorders can be used to make high definition videos. Today's digital still
cameras provide more than enough pixels.

And Photo Story and it's handling of high quality still images, combined
with Movie Maker, can give users a head-start while they wait for the
affordable HD camcorder on their wish-list.

Good point. I have played around with the PhotoStory 2 codec settings for
1024x768... and yes that is approaching HD. The WMV9 image codec is amazing!
Even at a relatively low bitrate like 300kbps... my PhotoStory slideshows
look crisp. When talking about photo slideshows... I agree people can enjoy
that experience today.

Combine a HD camcorder (720p) with some moderate videography skills... and
people will be absolutely blown away. Especially if someone has a large HD
display in the living room that can show off that resolution.

I made two custom profiles for use with Movie Maker, ones that align with
the resolutions of 720p (1280x720) and 1080p (1440x1080).

They work fine, and can be downloaded from the WMV HD > Intro page of my
Movie Maker website.
