.WMV file plays choppy audio

I created a .WMV file (video and audio). It plays great in Windows Media
Player. When I put it into PPT 2000, the video plays well, but the audio is
choppy (sounds like it is skipping.) The audio also seems to be a little off
from the video. I ran the video/audio through mplay32.exe and get the same
result as if I was playing it PPT. My drivers are up to date and I turned my
hardware acceleration down, but there is still no change.

Austin,

I downloaded and re-installed Windows Media Player 11. However, the problem
still exists. In my limited knowledge, I believe it is a codec issue, too,
but it boggles me why Windows Media Player will play the file okay by itself,
but then fail to play appropriately while in Powerpoint.

The problem is PowerPoint, which seems to be very picky with videos. WMV
videos won't run in every PC configuration, so there's only one thing that
will definitely work: MPEG.
You could try the trialware – VidLogo in order to convert your videos to
MPEG. This would be the best choice, I guess.
