WMP9

Hi
Im sure this question is asked many many times.
XP is set to automaticly get a list updates and one of the
updates I was prompted to download was an update from WMP8
to WMP9.
As many poeple have discovered, WMP9 isnt really up to
much and want to delete it, but as most poeple have now
realised it does not have an unistaller.
So im wondering how I simply unistall this program, or is
it that XP want poeple to be stuck with a media player
they dont want?
Thanks for any help you can offer me.

I had this problem too. Go to c:\windows\system32\dllchache and see if wmplayer.exe is in there. If it is, delete it. The computer will then be unable to restore it when you delete it from c:\program files\windows media player (where you will find version 6.4) Run mplayer2.exe (6.4) and associate all media files with that. If you want to remove all traces of 9, there's setup_wm.exe in program files and dllcache.
