wmp.inf error message when logging in the first time

G

gurvinder.nijjar

Whenever a new user logs on the first time to a specific Terminal Server
which as restrictions enforced they get the error message appear :

Could not locate INF file C:\winnt\Inf\wmp.inf/

You click OK and the message disappears. Next time they log in the error
message does not appear. IT only occurs when they log in the first time or
with a new profile. Does anyone know what this message means and how to get
rid of it.

WMP is as far is i know Windows Media Player
Check to see if the file is there first. Maby your security tweaks are
preventing access to the dir?!

In any case it's a bad idea of supporting multi media stuff on a TS server.
You don't want people starting up there AVI jokes and hogging CPU time for
nothing so you might consider removing WMP all togetherif it's on the
system?! With a bit of luck it might get ride of the error to.
