WMP 11 will not work at all!!!!!

Ok, my husband and I just bought a brand new computer. Well everything
worked fine at first. Then I installed Nero onto the cpu, and was no longer
able to access WMP11 (at least that is when i noticed i could no longer
access it). Not only will it not open, it just flat out will not respond.
So I tried to restore the system to an earlier time and was denied. I tried
a few more times with no results. Not only can I not open WMP 11, I can't
restore the system itself either. Please help me, I've tried everything
possible and to the point of screaming. How can I get WMP 11 to operate,
what is missing? Thank you in advance for all who lend their words, it is
greatly appreciated.

Windows Media Player stops responding after you install a third-party product that registers its own version of the Wmp.dll file:

If nothing works just use another player. Winamp is good for music and VLC
Media Player is great with video.

If you open up Task Manager and click on the Processes tab, is
"wmplayer.exe" listed there?

Do you see any failures in the Problem Reports and Solutions Center control
panel ("View History") related to the player?
