wmp 11 shutting down my computer

Everytime I try to play music in wmp and the now playing page is up my
computer completely restarts itself and comes back with an error saying that
the system has recovered from a serious error. I fi play music with my
library showing nothing happens... is there anything i can do?

could be an issue with the soundcard itself, maybe try searching for
updated drivers try a different sound card if possible. does the issue
happen with a different media player like VLC?

well i downgraded wmp and then i did a windows update.... i reinstalled wmp
11 this morning and it did the same thing again, however it doesn't shut off
in wmp 9 or 10
