WMM stretching my music

When I import any music file into wmm, it stretches the song to around twice
its normal length. I'm also using vista.

It slows the song down a lot after the first minute. I also googled the
problem and there was a lot of other people having the same problem, but no
one had an answer. I'm lost, I just don't know what to do. This is also a
brand new computer I have, I didn't change any settings, the first thing I
did was import the music I wanted and it was stretched with every song I
tried. I never had this problem with xp, and right now I'm using vista (which
I'm having lots of problems with..)

What is the format of the music file? If you could
convert it to .wav you might have a better result:

Ok thanks I will give this a shot another day. I just downloaded sony vegas
pro 8, and it's way better and I'm having no issues with it. Thanks for your
time and help.
