WMI problem

I wanted to start windows firewall on xp sp1 but cannot
and it says something about wmi...and now i am using xp
sp2 the windows firewall still can't start ...even the
WMI service on my comp. is not working(cannot start),and
everytime i start it , it says: specific module not
found................. can any one guide me on this

There is not even an repository folder..........
and even the wmi service is not running???
