WMI network problems

Hi,

I have XP Pro and having some LAN probs..

Box 1 can access other XP box's dirs and files which are shared but they can't
access Box 1 dirs files which are also shared. It was okay for 3 years so not
sure what it is. Can get to the i'net okay through Gateway hub.

I have uninstalled the LAN adapter and on reboot it came in again but no
difference.

I am trying to find Firewall to see how they are set, but can't find it.

Could be related..

In LAN/Properties/Advanced it says WMI might be corrupted.

In Network Diags I get the message WMI missing or corrupted.

In System Information I get, Can't access Windows management Instrumentation.
WMI may be moved or missing.

In the sys32/WBEM/Repository/ dir there is only objects.map and objects.data
both at 0 bytes. No other files are there as opposed to my other boxes.

Any help please?

Delete the files in the REPOSITORY folders , then start the wmi service.
(net start winmgmt)
