.wma to .wav conversion

I have some Windows Media (.wma) audio files I need to edit and then
save in .wav format. Audacity (currently used to edit my audio files)
doesn't seem to be able to open .wma files. Windows Media Player won't
save them as .wav. I tried Ifanview and whilst that will open the .wma
files, it won't allow me to save them.

Anybody have any ideas.

Thanks.

Still will not convert or save .wma files that have DRM embedded. Nothing
will.

If you don't find a free program or demo that would allow a direct
conversion, I would suggest the following. Play your wma with Window
media player and simultaneously record the playback using a wav recorder
configured to record the output of your sound card. Then save your recording
to the wav file format , next open and edit in Audacity .

CDex http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/ covert compressed audio File(s) to
wav(s) F12

Many thanks for that Ivan.

Been using CDex to rip CD tracks but didn't realise it could convert
wma files. Had to D/L wmaudsdk.dll for it to work but I now have the
files I needed converted.
