Wits end with Lycos side search

Can anyone please assist me? Everytime I log onto internet, and internet
sites Lycos side search pops up on the left hand side of my screen. I am at
my wits end with this. How can I SAFELY get rid of it. Have already looked
in my Add/Remove programme and it's not listed there? Thanks in advance.

Go do an anti-spyware and anti-virus scan.. It should find side search and
remove it.

Run all 3 programs there starting with CWS Shredder, then Anti-Spyware, then
House Call(which is the anti-virus). Good luck.

Your PC is infected with spyware. The Lycos side search is probably not the
only infection. The page below details several quality programs that can
assist you with this problem. Personally, I like Ad-Aware, scanning while in
Safe Mode.
