Without using auto response, can I tell if sent item was opened?

All the envelopes in my 'sent' view pane are opened .. even those going to
persons outside the company. Is there a way, without using the delivery
confirmation feature, to ascertain if someone within the company has opened
my mail?
 
No. Outlook has no way of gathering such information from other user's mail programs.
