I'm running Windows XP Pro on a basic clone with a
Microsoft Intellimouse Optical.
All of a sudden <WISPTIS.EXE> is loaded. What causes this
file to load, and what is a way o disable it.

Thanks,
Moose

Hello!

Are you using Tablet PC ?

Wisptis.exe refers to "WISP TIS." WISP :Windows Ink
Services for Pen; was the former name for the Tablet PC
Platform, and TIS.

Thanks for the reply Rick.

That's exactly my problem, No way to disable the service.
I am using a mouse on a basic clone pc, nothing remotely
resembling a tablet, AND the services control panel
applet does NOT show the Windows Ink Service as a
registered service. I have not had any sort of an input
device other than a standard keyboard and mouse.
Thanks,
Moose

Hi,

Curious indeed. Start/run msinfo32, expand the software environment and
click on the startup programs. Do you see anything here that indicates it?
