Dear all,

Does anyone now why my wireless connection is switching on
and off every few seconds ....... the laptop with the card
is only 12 inches from the ADSL wireless Gateway.

Re-inserting the card makes no diffference, all the
drivers seem to be OK, the Wireless light is OK on the
router, but flickers on the card.

I've been trying to sort this for days ......... LINKSYS
were useless - outrageous customer support for such a
large corporation, Compaq were friendly, but do not
provide networking support ................

I don't use a Linksys card, but the light may be flickering on it only
when there is activity between it and the router; that is the way a
regular NIC works, so it may be that way with the Linksys. Are you
experiencing problems? If not, then I wouldn't worry about it.

Hello Again

No connection available DNS error - the flickering light
is the least of my worries. but thanks anyway!

What make and model card? Gateway? What OS (name, version, patch level)?

Any other devices that CAN use this gateway? Any wireless devices?

Is the gateway log enabled? Any clues there?

Are there any interference sources nearby? You're not putting the laptop /
gateway on top of your microwave for instance?

How about some detail what Linksys had you try? Diagnostics for the gateway?
For the card?

Cheers,
Chuck
