wireless router info

Could someone point me to a good website for learning about wireless
routers--and perhaps recommend a couple? I just ordered a Dell notebook with
the downgrade to XP Pro, SP2. It will have an Intel 4965 WLAN (802.11a/g/n)
mini Card, and my ISP suggested I get a Linksys n-router to use with it.

About all I know is that n-routers and n-cards are supposed to be newer and
faster. I looked at Linksys n-routers at Amazon and found that there are
several. My current, nonwireless router is a Netgear. This Dell will be my
first notebook, so I haven't dealt with wireless before.

Thank you!

Thank you, Tom. I do use Google regularly. What I was hoping for are sites
that people here know are particularly good. Google unfortunately doesn't
provide that.

Buy a major brand and I don't think you can go wrong. I picked up a Belkin
from Compusa when I bought my laptop 3 years ago. It was $72 with a $60
rebate and for 12 bucks it's worked flawlessly.

It is sad that CompUSA bit the dust. I liked doing business with them as
well.

They are alive, got bought out by tigerdirect. They reopened one of the 2
stores here where I live but they are not quite the same as compusa was. A
lot of refurbished tv's and computers. They do stock a good supply of
computer accessories though.

For hardware variety and low cost, NewEgg.com is the best. As a
reseller/PC tech, I
use them all the time for my parts. As for routers, Linksys (Cisco) has
the best
installation software - it walks you through the entire setup, including
securing
your network.

The Linksys website has a 'Learning Center' with a wealth of information
about
networking. Try it, you'll like it.

www.linksys.com - click the Learning Center

Good Luck,
Jack C.
