Wireless remote control gadgets for Media Player

I've seen some wireless remotes that can be used for PowerPoint
presentations.

Is there something out there that will let me remotely control
MultiMedia Player functions like FastForward and Rewind. I usually
connect my laptop to TV and launch AVI files but it's a pain using a
mouse every time to skip scenes.

I have the precurser to this - the original snapstream remote and it's been
very good and works with many multimedia applications.
