Wireless problem

I have a Netgear wireless ADSL router with up to 4 PC's attached at
any one time. One of the PC's is a Dell PC running XP home with a
Belkin wireless card. On boot up the network connects without any
problem but then randomly it will just disconnect, the card will then
refuse to see the network let alone re-connect to it. If you repair
the connection then it will pick up the network card and reconnect.

My problem is that I don't want the kids to have admin rights
therefore they can't repair the connection. The only way round it is
for me to logon and repair the connection or they need to re-boot the
PC (not ideal).

I have checked the card properties and there are no powersave options
enabled. The other PC's all seem to work fine (including a Dell PC
with a belkin card) and my laptop will stay connected 24/7 without any
problems! Any one got any idea what the problem could be?

Hi
There is always the possibility that the actual card is defective (the only
way to find out is by borrowing another card and try it installed).
Otherwise put temporarily move the Wireless computer very close to the
Router to rule out distance issue.
Make sure that you have the Newest Drivers (look at Belkin support for
Drivers update).
Make sure that your Router broadcasts the SSID.
Try to change all the Wireless channels in the Router to find which one
provides the best performance.
Measure of performance is the connection's actual transfer speed not the
number of Bars as shows by the Wireless utility (
