wireless printer connections Canon S530D and a laptop

We have a desktop computer connected to a Canon S530D.
We purchased a laptop and router. The wireless internet
connection works. I have added the printer to the laptop
and it will work when the cables are connected but not
when wirless. Any ideas?

You need a wireless printer adapter attached on your printer, which will be hooked up to your rauter and then you can add a printer to the laptop. Thats the first solution forwireless printing or buy wireless prinetr server(around 100$) but you have to check if your brand of printer will work with that kind of server or printer adapter
