Ben

I am running a wireless network with a router. When my
laptop goes into standby mode the network connection is
lost. I then have great difficulty in reconnecting to
the network. A message appears on screen that a wireless
network is available but it does not connect. Is this a
known problem with Windows XP? Are there any fixes for
this problem? I am running Windows XP Home edition with
SP1, also under Add/Remove programs "wireless manager" is
listed, does this affect the wireless connection and how
can I access the wireless manager?

Hi.

It is not a problem of windows.

It is unfortunately the way Wireless hardware work.

Most Wireless hardware will not keep the connection unless there is Live
source. When a Laptop goes to standby the Wireless doe not transmit any
more.

Jack (MVP-Networking).
