I have the following; a desktop (D1) running XP Pro and hardwired into a
Netgear router, a laptop (L1) running XP Pro wireless to the router, and
another laptop (L2) running XP Home wireless to the router. L1 had been
connected and sharing up until I purchased and installed L2 last week. Now
all three computers can easily browse the internet but they cannot share
printers (one on the desktop and one on L2) or files in the SharedDocs
folders on each other. Additionally, L2 cannot even see L1.
I ran ipconfig and all the info seems to be OK. I have double checked that
the Windows firewalls are turned off on all three and that all three are set
up for filesharing.
When I view Entire Network on D1, I see nothing until I click on Microsoft
Network and then on my "Home2" network. It shows all three SharedDoc folders
but when I click on the folders on the laptops, I get that "Access denied;
check with Server Administrator" error message.
When viewing Entire Network on L1 >MS Network>Home2, I can see all 3 shared
folders but again, I get the error message on the folders from D1 and L2.
When viewing Entire Network>MS Network>Home2 on L2, I can only see the shared
folders from L@ and D1, NOT L1..
None of them except for D1 show any printer availability.
Any hints or things I have overlooked?
