Wireless network not connected - or is it?

Sometimes I will see that my wireless network is not connected, so I display
wireless netowrks, and see that it says "Not connected", with a button on
the bottom to disconnect it. I double click on it, and it asks if I want
to disconnect. I do, and now I can click on it to connect.

What explains this bizarre behavior?

check the settings.
Right-click Wireless Network Connection, and then click Properties.
On the Wireless Networks tab the Use Windows to configure my wireless
network settings check box is selected by default.

Hi Howard,

I remember you way back from the Win98 days. :o)

I have five computer wireless connections here in my home and have never
seen this. However, have seen them being X'd out stating unplugged while
all is well. I would suggest from here trying the forum for the make of
your adapter.

Other than that, it could have to do with interference (time and
circumstances). As an example, my boys here with three wireless X-Boxes
complain of lagging if more than three wireless computers are being used.
Am still fighting the logic to that one! :o)
