Wireless Network keeps disconnecting

C

Chris

I recently upgraded to a wireless network... and bought a
new laptop. I am able to connect to my network/router...
but after a few short minutes it disconnects me... and
gives me a notification in the lower right corner
saying "One or more wireless networks are available."

Is there a way to just have it connect automatically to
my own network (and not to the other networks that my
computer picks up from inside my apartment complex).
It's annoying to have to stop and keep connecting.

Please HELP!!!

Depend on the wireless WiFi cards
most have software bundle that u can disable sniffing of
other netowrk or use only preferred network

Sounds like interference only
Bluetooth and microwave can theoratically interfere with
WiFi

Make certain the 802.1x authentication is UNmarked-
Start, run then type in:
ncpa.cpl [ok]
Right click on the wireless connection/ Choose propoerties/
Goto the Wireless Networks tab
In the bottom windows on this page titled 'preferred networks'
choose
your home network name and click on Properties.
Ensure that the checkbox 'The key is provided for me automatically'
is
not checked.
Goto the tab labelled Authentication & ensure that the box labelled
'Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network' is unchecked.
