Wireless network card setup with XP

I'm setting up a notebook computer with a 3COM
3CRWE62092A 802.11b wireless network card and Windows
XP/SP1 Pro. The 3COM setup disk (dated January 31, 2002)
says that the native XP driver does not work. Was this
fixed with the SP1 release of XP?

Keith,

I'm not sure if it was, but you can download an updated driver from 3Com,
dated August 1, 2002, rather than using the setup disk from Jan '02

Well, it's still the old driver and does not work.
Unfortunately, the 3COM disk requires the use of the
Windows hardware wizar and the wizard just says it can't
fin a driver better that the one that is installed (which
doesn't work!) Catch 22?
