wireless network cannot be seen.

I Am trying to connect to my wireless network on my xp
laptop via usb networkadapter and wireless router. I
recently changed my router's netowkr name from default to
my own personal name(SSID). I also added a 5 key, 64bit
Hex WEP. Using my home computer tower that hosts the
router. Now when I am on the laptop, I do not even see my
network name, only others near my office. If i plug the
wireless adapter to my other tower 98 computer, i can see
and connect to my router. Help!!!!!

Needless to say, double-check that you've entered the same
key(s) on the router and your laptop. Also, there should
be a setting for the _type_ of security handshaking that
goes on when the router and your laptop compare keys; make
sure the settings match on both. Since the same adapter
works on a different machine, an error in your settings is
the most likely problem.
