Wireless network access but no internet?

Hello everyone,

I have just spent a whole entire day trying to share my
internet connection on a wireless network with no luck so
I would greatly appreciate any help.

Basically I have just bought a new notebook (A) that has
a internal wireless lan card (this pc also has internet
access through my cable modem) and I would like to share
the internet connection with my other laptop (B) running
an external Belkin wireless device.

I have made a wireless network on notebook A, and I can
connect to this on notebook B. I can share files and
folders on the network however I can't get Internet on B.

I have gone through the network connections wizard on B,
I have enabled Internet Connection Sharing on A, and I
have enabled HTTP in the advanced settings of ICS, IP
and DNS addresses are automatically assigned.

I have only tried connecting with another notebook (C)
but the same thing happens.

Please help, this is so frustrating. Thanks in advance.

Run the Network Setup Wizard again on (A) and then (B) paying very special
attention to the options as you go. Please use the 'See examples' links.

Your best option may be to get a wireless router and cable that to your
modem and then cable (A) to the router. (B) will connect to the router via
wireless - thus bypassing (A). Using that set up you have a hardware
firewall and you can then disable the windows firewalls since they will most
likely interfere with sharing anyway.

Mike,

could you describe the networking setup and list the installed
components on computer A in some more detail?
