Wireless/Laser Notebook Mice?

howdy, im shopping for a new mouse for my laptop and was looking at
microsofts line of notebook mice. i dont really have anywhere to try
them before i buy them so i was wondering if anyone here has any
experience with them? from what i can tell there's the 3000 which is
basic, the 4000 adds a thumb button and horizontal tilt as well as
clickless scroll? as well as a smaller reciever and the 6000 is laser..
a couple of reviews have said the spine down the middle of the
4000/6000 is unnatural and uncomfortable.. opinions?

this is microsofts page for the 3000 with a picture of it at the top,
but scroll down to the bottom right and there's a different mouse named
the 3000, is this a new model? if so how old is it? it
seems to do everything the 4000 does.. im just wondering if there are
other new/updated models coming shortly, if so i'll hold off my
purchase.. it seems to go under the name b2j on ebay and most online
retailers.. anyone know? thanks

Have you noticed that the upper picture is a *wireless* model,
and the lower is wired
