Hi,

Portable Toshiba Satellite running Windows XP has wireless
lan 802.11b, and its behavior is quite weird, when
connected (wireless), a little later, it pops a message
indicating one or more wireless connection is available
and the internet connection is lost.

Help?

I am running a Dell with windows xp pro through an apple
airport extreme and experienced this problem setting up
the network. Try this:
1. click on the balloon that pops up for the wireless
connection available
2. click on the wireless connection properties
3. click the wireless networks tab
4. select the name of one of the networks listed as
available and click on configure
5. Make sure that Network Authentication is "shared" and
Data encryption is "WEP", also make sure that your
network key is correct.
6. Click on authentification tab and make sure
that "Enable IEEE 802.1x authentification for this
network" is NOT checked.

This worked for me. Hopefully it will work for you.
