wireless intellimouse explorer wont wake up

my wireless intellimouse explorer is connected through the
usb and everytime i boot up, or restart for that matter,
the mouse will not work. green light on the receiver is
not on. ive tried hitting the connect button on the bottom
of the mouse and the receiver to no avail. only thing that
works is unplugging the usb connection and plugging it
right back in. im using the newest drivers i belief. any
ideas? thanks

Have you tried changing the batteries in the mouse - if
they are low it may not wake up
