Hi,

I heard that the phones mobiles GSM antennas area dangerous to human health
because of radiations, may cause cancer.

I am thinking to mount an directional wireless antenna in my bed room,
8.5dBi, and I'm worried about radiations.

Area antennas dangerous can I keep them in my bed room where I sleep ?

Except for amplified antennas, which I'm not even sure are legal, the
standard directional antennas don't actually increase the transmission
power, so whatever risk you're exposing yourself to, is going to be the
same as with same comm device with it's standard antenna, without the
special antenna attached, except perhaps a varying field strength based on
where the antenna is aimed.

As for the danger, it's not very strong, not likely to give you cancer by
itself, but as a contributing factor, a cumulative (in addition to all
other risks) cause, the jury is still out... SOMETHING is causing higher
cancer rates than in past generations, but we haven't been using these
particular devices long enough, and the science too poor, to know.

I think it's more likely you'll be killed by a driver talking on a mobile
phone than the radiation of these devices, but then again you might want
to put it somewhere other than a nightstand a couple of feet from your
head.

Hmmm, letsee now, could it possibly be the way we eat? Maybe? Naaah,
it's those low power radio emissions, that's what does it.

Do you worry about your television? A tube-based television is basically
an electron accelerator. But most of the electrons get caught and
converted into photons. It's all still energy striking you in the face,
though.

Don't use a CRT, eh? Well, even your machine is bad for you, heating up
all the plastic components and releasing small (relatively) quantities
of PCBs into the air in your room. PCBs are not renowned for their
health benefits.

What about the electromagnetic flux caused by all the electrical goods
in your house? No one seems to consider those, but they're equivalent in
many ways to the flux caused by a transmitter. More energy penetrating
your body, desperately hoping to damage your cellular material.

In short: yes, radio waves are bad for you. But so is everything else.
It's all about priority. Do you value your health enough to live in a
metallically-shielded hut in the wilds, surrounded by a lovely forest,
eating fish (oh, yeah, mercury levels: forget the fish) and vegetables,
and excersising moderately each day?

Forgetting the health aspect for a while: just drill a hole in the damn
wall and stick a 10/100/1000 Cat 6 RJ45 cable between rooms. It's faster
and more secure.

Nah couldn't be....well at least I though Mcdonalds was good for me, I mean
it is fried in VEGETABLE oil. So if it's bad for me and I didn't know that
I can sue them because of my own damn ignorance/stupidity?
