Wireless Connection Problems...

I seem to be having a problem staying connected to my
wireless network.. I'm using two different kinds of
wireless cards.. I'm using a Cisco Aironet 350 PCMCIA
card and also a OriNoco Silver PCMCIA card.

Both will connect to the wireless network. I have WEP
enabled and the correct key.. I can surf the web and
connect to other computers in the network for a short
period of time.. After a period of time has gone by (
always random too ) I loose the connection and get the
message "One or more Wireless Connections are avialable".
I then have to double click on it and reconnect to the
wireless network before I can continue using the service.
My SSID is being broadcasted and their are NO other
wireless networks avialable in my area... Just the one
I'm using in my home.

I know its not a signal strength issue cause the access
point is about 15 feet in front of me and there are no
walls in between me and the access point. My roommate has
the exact same Orinoco card as I do and does NOT have
this problem. I've tried using his card in my laptop and
I still have the same problem.

I have a HP Pavilion XH485 laptop running Windows XP SP1.
I have the latest drivers installed for both wireless
cards and all my critical updates for MS installed also.
I also have 2 PCMCIA ports ( Texas Instruments PC-1420
Cardbus slots ) and have this problem in BOTH slots
regardless of what card is installed.

If anyone knows of what this problem could be, and can
give me some help... I would GREATLY appreciate it! Its
driving me nuts to say the least and dont have the
slighest clue what is causing it!

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

What brand/model access point or wireless router are you using? Does it have
the latest firmware? What operating system is your roommate using? is this
behavior something that started recently? you may want to try uninstalling
update 815485 since your hardware doesn't support WPA yet.
