I have a laptop at home and a T1 connection that feeds a
wireless router. I have no problem with my desktop that
is connected via a cable, but my laptop uses a wireless
NIC and often loses the connection.
What happens is that usually after 30 seconds of activity,
I lose my connection and the manager pops up and says
multiple wireless networks found (I live in a condo) and
wants me to choose one. I choose mine and within 10
seconds am back in. Then, sometimes, a minute or two
later I get dropped again and have to repeat the process.
I KNOW that there is nothing wrong with my signal strength
or wireless card. It's a Windows problem, I'm sure. My
girlfriend uses XP as well and has similar problems
getting booted from a network that isn't down.
I have made my network the #1 priority on the priority
list, and I just don't understand why my laptop won't stay
conencted to it.
Any thoughts?
I tried disabling the Zero Support option (or Zero
something) in advanced options, but that didn't help.
