Wireless Connection Manager problems

I have a laptop at home and a T1 connection that feeds a
wireless router. I have no problem with my desktop that
is connected via a cable, but my laptop uses a wireless
NIC and often loses the connection.

What happens is that usually after 30 seconds of activity,
I lose my connection and the manager pops up and says
multiple wireless networks found (I live in a condo) and
wants me to choose one. I choose mine and within 10
seconds am back in. Then, sometimes, a minute or two
later I get dropped again and have to repeat the process.

I KNOW that there is nothing wrong with my signal strength
or wireless card. It's a Windows problem, I'm sure. My
girlfriend uses XP as well and has similar problems
getting booted from a network that isn't down.

I have made my network the #1 priority on the priority
list, and I just don't understand why my laptop won't stay
conencted to it.

Any thoughts?

I tried disabling the Zero Support option (or Zero
something) in advanced options, but that didn't help.

i live in an apartment complex and had similar issues. I
removed all but my own network from the preferred network
list and have had no more issues. Hope this helps

It is possible that your wireless router is experiencing interference from
the other nearby wireless access points. To determine if this is the
problem; try changing the wireless channel your wireless router uses. (Steps
on how to do this should be listed in the manual for your router.) Try each
channel for a while to see if the problem goes away.

I'm not sure about that, but I can try it. Wouldn't my
desktop suffer the same interruption? Or are you saying
the broadcasting of the wireless signal is the issue?

I am concerned it's a setting I need to toggle. The
reason is that I can predict when I lose the connection...
30 seconds after it first connects. Either 30s from
turning on the laptop, or 30s after waking it from sleep
(when it was connected just fine for hours before
sleeping).
