wireless connection impossible after ms update

i have a toshiba laptop that worked perfectly ok on a
wireless card until i installed an update it stopped
working instantly. this happened a couiple of months ago.
any help woul be very much appreciated.

wireless network card users---

i have a dell with a 1350 adapter - it would not
configure/work with new router - turns out service pack 2
whacks the wireless 'stuff' - after uninstalling sp2 i
reconfigured the wireless through the router set up and
it works fine - fyi - the router always worked - the
wireless card couldn't 'find' the wireless router until
uninstall

people here need more information like operating system,
installed service packs, error messages, which update apparently
caused the problem, and what exactly "stopped working" means.
