Wireless connection dropped after another wireless fnd

I have a wireless laptop and hardwired desktop. When
windows "sees" another wireless network (my neighbor's)
it drops me and says "more than one wireless connection
available...". I have to re-establish the connection. I
have just my connection in my "preferred" network, but
windows xp adds the other networks. I would like to tell
my laptop that my wireless ssid is the only one to
connect to. It worked fine for the last 5 days...

Right click your wireless network and choose 'view
available wireless networks'. Then click advanced and
make sure you dont have anything in preferred networks,
if you do, delete them. Click the advanced button and
make sure you do not have a check in 'automatically
connect to non-preferred networks' then click OK.

While on this screen click on the advanced tab and make
sure enable IEEE using 802.llx isnt checked. Im not sure
about other wireless adapters but Microsofts adapters
will drop the signal if this is checked.

HTH!
