Hello,

In my office I have 5 computers sharing a wired internet/dsl connection.

Can I share printers between only 2 of the computers? or would I have to
share them all.

You share printers, as files, between people, not computers. You connect
printers to the network (preferred) or to individual computers (not preferred).
People have access (or don't) to resources like printers.

Tell us more what, specifically, you want to do. And what operating system are
you running on your computers? Read this article please.

Sorry, I thought I sent this reply earlier, if this is a duplicate I
apologize.

Im running windows XP SP2 on 5 computers in my office. All sharing (wired to
the router) the same dsl connection. I want to be able to share printers for
example, between computer 2 and computer 5.
thanks

Do you have XP Home or Pro? If you have XP Home, or if XP Pro using Guest
authentication, anything shared from one computer is available to all users on
all computers.

If you have XP Pro with Advanced File Sharing, you CAN setup the printer server
(computer with the printer attached) to allow access to specific PERSONS
(accounts). If each individual computer is used by one and only one person, you
can have a unique account for each PERSON, and call it access by computer, but
it will really be access by account.
