I have hooked the s cable to both & nothing. i have attached the tv and
extended the display but i get no image. as for sound, i have but one audio
jack (headphone).

TIA.

If you were able to extend the display, that means the graphics card
or device in your computer, has recognized that something is
connected to the video output. Now, you need to go to the
television, and set it to "video" instead of some channel.
On my TV, clicking down through the channels, gets me
to "video" just below Channel 3. Then, whatever is connected
to the Composite or S-video connector on the TV, is viewable.

To start, set the resolution on the TV output port to 640x480.
See if the TV is picking up anything, when it is set to "video".

For sound, you may have to use your computer speakers. My TV
doesn't have a sound input. If the TV has left and right
audio input, you'd need a 1/8" stereo to dual RCA cable, to make
an audio connection. The 1/8" plug goes to the computer
audio output (like green Lineout jack), while a TV might have
RCA connectors on it. In this picture, the black plug goes to
the computer, the red and white to the TV audio inputs.
