I don't do the chat thing, but I have a friend with iChat who wants to reach
me in such a manner. I do not want to mess with video. What is the
simplest avenue to effect this? As far as I can tell, there is no way for
Windows to use iChat. I've jumped through hoops to get Windows Messenger
off of my system, so this might be a moot point since I don't want it on my
system.

Thanks.

As I know, if you want to chat with friend, who use iChat, you need an AOL
Instant Messenger (www.aim.com).

Since you're not into chat programs, maybe you could just tell your
friend to send you an email! For less invasive chat programs, you might
want to look at Trillian. I did spend some time looking at their site
for you and didn't see any mention of iChat. However, that doesn't mean
Trillian can't connect to iChat; just that I didn't find anything about
it. If Trillian interests you, there seems to be lots of information
and an active user base.

Malke, thanks. I agree about the email, but thought it would be fun to
entertain her request. I will check out Trillian.
