WinXP "The system has detected tampering...."

I recently reinstalled a backup image using Acronis v10 Home on my
computer, and installed the latest MS updates, and fixed the ZoneAlarm
problem that resulted with the latest Windows updates. Since that
time, my system will pop up the message, "The system has detected
tampering with your registered product type. This is a violation of
your software license. Tampering with product type is not permitted."
This message has come up once a day when coming out of the screen
saver just before asking for the password to continue.

AVG 8 Free, Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware 8, and the Microsoft Malicious
Software Tool detect no problems. I did resize my main system partion,
C:\, using Partition Magic 8 around the same time, but have never had
any real problems using Partion Magic in the past.

The MS Knowledge Base has three articles pertaining to this, and none
of them seem to fit my situation. Also, Google has a lot of articles,
but no real helpful thoughts on the problem. :/ Any suggestions from
you guys/gals would be appreciated before I reinstall an older backup
image.

System Info:
Dell Dimension 8300, 3 gHz P4, 1gb ram, two 160gb SATA hard drives
with main system partition residing on C: (C drive is 45gb)
Windows XP Pro with SP3 installed and fully patched as of this latest
"update Tuesday".

No hardware changes have been made to this four year old system.

You should run SFC /SCANOW
Some system file is corrupt.

I ran sfc /scannow and it finished without any error message or any
message at all. I assume that means all was ok. I'll wait and see if I
still get the tampering message. Thanks. :)
