WinXP syastem date time

hi,

My winxp with SP2 system date time is 1990. I changed to 2007, it changed
back to 1990 right away.
I also tried in bio, default date time was 2057. I changed to 2007 and
save/exit... login windows, same problem, system datetime is 1990.
Any idea??

Thanks

No. He says it "it changed back to 1990 right away." That symptom can
*not* be the battery. If he powered off, and then found the clock
wrong when he next powered back on, it would almost certainly be the
battery. But since the battery isn't even used when the system is
running, it can not be the issue here.

If the system date & time reverts while the computer is turned off
then that is a problem with the motherboard battery and you probably
need to replace that.

If the system date and time reverts while the computer is running then
that is a software issue and I would suspect a possible virus/trojan
infestation as the most likely culprit. Go to one of the following
free online scanning sites and check your computer for problems:
Bit Defender http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html
Trend Micro http://housecall.trendmicro.com
Kaspersky Online Scanner http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
Panda ActiveScan http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan
WindowSecurity.com TrojanScan http://windowssecurity.com/trojanscan
Webroot http://www.webroot.com/

Good luck

What I tried was,
Reinstall winxp again(format the c drive), first boot, the date time was
ok, after installing SP2, the datetime changed backup to 1990 again.
same problem--- it changed backup to 1990 right after I change to 2007.
