I'm running Windows XP SP1 on a 2.8 GHZ computer with 512 mg ram.

I have noticed in the past week or two that file creation dates are showing
as 01/16/1990 instead of the current date.

Since this has been happening, I've been watching it. The day is updating.
The first file was 01/09/1990. Does anyone have any idea where to look for
what is causing windows to use this date as a creation date?

Hello Susan,

Has there been ANY changes to the system before you noticed that this
started happening? Have you recently installed any new software or
hardware? It could also be a virus. Are you running any anti-virus
software? I assume that if you look in the system BIOS and the clock for
Windows, they show the correct current date?
