I have just installed winXP on a PC PIV 1.4 Ghz with RIMM memory.
insatallation went perfect several reboots performed as per
installation request. util I started up winXP for the first time. on
the moment the blue screen appears with the login picture the PC
blocks. I have tried installing winXP pro instead of Home but same
problem. I do not know how to proceed. can anybody help!!!???

If it pretty much completed the install, but will not boot up, I would first
try to do a Repair install. Boot from the XP cd, select Enter to install,
but select R to do a Repair install. This will try to repair a current
install. Obviously it's install enough to try to run Win XP, but something
may be corrupted. The repair install will try to recopy the installation
files.
Now, before you start the reinstallation, make sure you have all you
peripheral stuff
unplugged (cameras, scanners, printers, etc....). Just plug in a mouse,
keyboard and monitor.
