Make sure that simple sharing is unchecked (Folder Options>View).

If your drive is formatted FAT instead of NTFS then file/folder security is not available and you will have no Security tab in properties.

How do you view the security tab on a WinXP Pro PC?

a: The drive must be NTFS

b: In Folder Options - View, uncheck 'Use Simple File Sharing'. That is
the level used in Home, and for some strange reason is on by default in
Pro too

I thought you had to boot into safe mode. Now I know that you do not
with WinXP Pro. Thanks!
