Hello

Please I need expert advise on WinXP.

I've been running XP now for the paste 3 months, and from one day to next
I've noticed that every time I go on the net my pc starts uploading non
stop, what, I don't know, as if it's broadcasting my presence non stop.

Because of that I've decided to use my older machine for the Internet, until
I sort out this problem, one way or another.

I checked for virus and I've used Ad-aware to see if I could find the
problem, I did find 2 or 3 non-threatening spying programs, and no virus.
I've quarantined those programs but that made no difference.

I'm OK with Win98 even if I have to dive into the register, but XP is a bit
of a different animal to me.
Is there anyone with some expert advice, please?

Besides this problem XP is running very well, by the way I've also made sure
that I don't have any files or folders with sharing permeation.

Install a software firewall such as Zonealarm. It will alert you when
something on your machine attempts to create outgoing traffic. You can
then allow or disallow the traffic. Some programs, like Internet Explorer
you should allow. Other programs, like spyware, you should disallow. Then
figure out how to get rid of it.
If you have zonealarm, you don't need xp's built in firewall.
