I'm a long time user of Win 98 and WinME that just switched to WinXP Pro.

When I was using 98 and ME, I had a batch file that would run on system
start up that would delete cookies, index.dat, temp files, etc...

I would like to do this on XP also, but I don't know if it will work or even
how to go about it.

Has anyone tried this on XP?

One hint. Run the bat on a different account than yours. It may
not run before some of those files are already in use.

I use Index.dat Suite for this purpose. The index.dat files and some files
in the Temp folder are locked by WinXP so they must be deleted by adding an
entry in the RunOnce registry entry. Index.dat Suite makes this easy.

I found a nifty little program called System Wiper... tiny unobtrusive
program, that once set up, can delete a multitude of things with a single
stroke... I have mine set to activate upon the ctrl-f12 combo.... I know I
can do it all manually, but this does it quicker and haven't had a single
issue with it yet

Give it a look :)
