WinXP Photo Crash Problem

D

Dallas

When I save a picture from the web (internet explorer and
firebird)/Upload a picture for profile on MSN Messenger
(Version 6)/When I choose a picture for my wallpaper
(under display properties). The dialogue box comes up I
choose a photo/or a name for the photo as soon as I hit
okay or save the window acts like it is not responding
then the program that I am in just disappears. It is not
in memory anymore and there are no eventlogs created.

Anyideas? This is a VERY annoying problem.

Configuration:
Acer Travelmate 803LCi
Pentium Mobile 1.6Ghz
512MB
ATI Mobility Radeon 9000
WindowsXP Pro (SP1) - All Current Windows Update patches
Update Video Drivers

Do you happen to have Adobe PhotoShop or
Elements installed?

If you do...right click on a .jpg file and choose
Properties. Click the Photoshop Image tab
and uncheck the "Generate Thumbnails" button,
then click OK.

I do have photoshop installed but I'm not sure where you
mean for me to right click? If you mean just right
clicking on the file then choose properties there is no
photoshop image tab.

Thanks,
Dallas

What I mean is...open a folder that contains
image files...right click one of your .jpg files
and from the menu choose Properties.

Click the Photoshop Image tab and uncheck
the "Generate Thumbnails" button, then click
OK. If there is no Photoshop tab...this is not
the solution.
