WinXP is crashing and is crashing every program I launch

I have not change the configuration of my computer but for some reason, my computer has started crashing, leaving no records in the event logs (even the event viewer is crashing). I can't even get the system file checker to stay open for 1/2 second.

BSOD messages include:
STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x8059DF9F, 0xF74B2AAC, 0x00000000)
STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xF519F2C8, 0xF519F214, 0x00000000)
STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x805BA6D8, 0xF46CD978, 0x00000000)
STOP: 0x00000050 (0xF43F9370, 0x00000000, 0xF41FE280, 0x00000000)
STOP: 0x0067006F
STOP: 0x804F4FE5

Some of the files errors were being reported with include: win32k.sys, npdriver.sys & symevent.sys.

When error descriptions were included at the top of the BSOD, they were: Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area & IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal

Any assistance that you could offer would be apprecitated.
