When I type in CMD the black screen flicks up for a second when I type in
Command I am able to use that but the commands I want to use like netstat is

Sounds like a machine infected with malware, generating
a corrupted command such as c:\windows\cmd.com. Try
running c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe and report what
happens.

I typed this into the run box and did get the command screen up. But unable to use CMD in run box getting this error "cmd not a valid win32 application". Tried typing netstat -a into the command prompt and getting access is denied with this command. Also when I look for c:\windows\system32 file it is not there only system. Would that be the problem

From the symptoms you describe you confirm that your machine
is infested with malware. Ask a friend who has solid experience
with Windows to assist you, or perhaps a technician at your
friendly computer dealer.

Hi Pegasus
Ihave 3 spyware programs on my PC and using Avast have done all scans and
did removed a few trojans but this is not fixing the problem. I know this is
not really vital to the system but it buhgs me that I cannot use it. I may
need to do a format as you know its such a long winded thing as will lose a
lot of files unless copy onto DVD or get myself and external hardrive.
Thanks for your help.
