WinXP - cd writing wizard does not find cd in drive

Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite A10 with a Toshiba DVD-
ROM Model SD-R2412. I am able to write to CDs when I use
the drag 'n drop feature, but when I try to use the
wizard, I get an error message that there is no disk
present in drive D:, although there is.

Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.

You need to enable 'Insert disc notification' flag. You can use
Tweakui to enable this (see My Computer, AutoPlay) or use Registry
e.g.
HEKY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom

and make sure AutoRun is set to 1.
