Am running WinXP Pro with Celeron 1.7GHz, 256DDR. I have
two new problems I think are related. 1) cursor "working"
hourglass blinks a repetitive pattern when I have nothing
running (ie. blink, blink, blink-blink), like there's
something the computer is working on/waiting on. 2) maybe
related? the hard drive starts working overtime (after
running awhile - like overnight) constantly grinding (like
defrag) but nothing is running... in the Task Manager,
the "run32.dll" file pops in and out of the list of active
processes as this grinding occurs. Have tried different
swap file sizes (including recommended), have installed
all recommended Win updates and disabed any autorum
processes like virus scanners or disk utilities, to no
avail. Have not installed any new programs lately. Any
suggestions?
